POOL OPERATING RULES
Revised 4/02
The Orchard Hill Swim Club, Inc. Board of Trustees has adopted the following Pool Operating Rules to provide for the safety and enjoyment of its members and their guests during their use of the Club facilities. The cooperation of all members and their guests in adherence to these rules is expected and violation of such rules may be cause for suspension or forfeiture of privileges in involving use of the Club or its facilities.
II. GENERAL RULES
1. The Pool Manager or his/her designee shall have the responsibility and complete authority to enforce all rules stated herein. The Board of Trustees shall be ultimately responsible for the interpretation of all of the following rules and shall have the authority to amend or revise this document at its sole discretion.
2. All complaints regarding service or infraction of these rules should be reported to the Pool Manager or his/her designee. All other complains should be submitted to the Board of Trustees in writing, Attn: Secretary. No member shall verbally or physically dispute any action of the pool Manager or any other employee of the Club.
3. The Club assumes no responsibility for members and their guests. They shall have no claim against the Orchard Hill Swim Club, Inc. for the property (for any member or any guest) which is brought upon or left on the Club premises.
4. The Club assumes no responsibility for members or their guests. They shall have no claim against the Orchard Hill Swim Club, Inc. for any accident, injury, or damage to any persons on their property.
5. All members and their guests shall present their membership cards for entry to the pool at the front desk.
6. No pets shall be permitted in the pool area at any time.
7. Smoking is permitted on the upper concrete deck only. All ashes, cigarette and cigar butts shall be placed in proper receptacles. There is to be no smoking in the grass areas or on the concrete deck surrounding the pool and wading pool.
8. Common rules of courtesy shall be exercised by members and guests at all times. Members and guests shall refrain from abusive or foul language, loudness, etc.
9. Rules governing the use of the Clubs tennis courts shall be specified in a separate document, entitled "Orchard Hill Swim Club, Inc. Tennis Rules."
III. HOURS OF OPERATION
1. Opening Day shall be the Saturday immediately preceding Memorial Day. Closing Day shall be Labor Day, unless otherwise determined the Board of Trustees.
2. The day-to-day hours of operation shall be posted at the front entrance. Exceptions to the normal day-to-day hours of operation shall be posted well in advance of the scheduled activity (e.g., pool party, home swim meet, etc.).
3. At the discretion of the Pool Manager or his/her designee, the Club may be closed earlier in the day than originally scheduled due to lack of pool use.
IV. TRAFFIC CONTROL
1. All members and their guests shall exercise extreme caution while operating their private vehicles on the premises. The Speed Limit shall be 10 MPH at all times.
2. No parking shall be allowed in crosshatched painted area.
3. Unless insufficient parking spaces are available (such as swim meets), there shall be no parking of vehicles on the grass.
4. Each vehicle shall occupy one and only one parking space. Vehicles shall park completely within the designated parking space.
5. Bicycles must be parked in the bike rack located outside the front entrance.
V. GUESTS AND GUEST PASSES
1. The good conduct of each guest is the direct responsibility of the sponsoring member. An adult sponsor must sign for a guest child.
2. Any member who fails to register a guest brought into the Club or who supplies false information as to such guest may be suspended from all Club privileges for up to but not exceeding one (1) week at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
3. Guests are permited for a minimal fee. They must be accompanied by a member.
4. A guest pass is NOT transferable from one bond-holding family membership to another.
5. All members age 14 years and older may bring guests to the Club after 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday for the standard guest fee with no guest pass required.
6. "Resident Season Guests" are those individuals living at the home of a bond-holding family membership during the swim season. Fees for the "Resident Season Guests" shall be 50% of the annual dues. No fee shall be assessed for "Resident Season Guests under the age of 6 years.
7. "House Guests" are those guests staying in the home of a member for more than 24 hours.
a. The weekly "House Guest" fee shall be as follows:
$24.00 per week
b. The number of "House Guests" shall be limited to 6 persons.
c. "House Guest" privileges shall be limited to a maximum of two (2) weeks.
d. No guest pass shall be required of "House Guests."
VI. CHILDREN
1. All persons under 18 years of age will be required to leave the pool for a 15-minute rest period each hour. Adult swimming only will be permitted during this 15-minute rest period. The pool manager will use his discretion concerning adult swim.
2. Children under 14 years of age are not permitted use of the pool or its facilities after 6:00 PM unless accompanied by a member 16 years of age or older.
3. Children under 9 years of age are not permitted on the Club premises at any time without adult supervision.
4. Use of the wading pool shall be limited to children under 7 years of age, and only with adult supervision.
5. Children under 3 years of age are not permitted in the main pool regardless of whether accompanied by or held by an adult. Children under 3 years of age will be required to wear rubber or plastic pants, or a disposable diaper at all times while in the wading pool.
6. Children under 12 years of age who have passed the clubs "Beginners Test" may use the pool facilities unaccompanied. The Pool Manager and/or lifeguard on duty shall satisfy himself/herself that any child who claims to have passed the Clubs "Beginners Test" is indeed so qualified.
7. Regardless of age, no rubber, plastic pants, or disposable diaper is allowed in the main pool at any time.
VII. HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES
1. At no time will swimming be permitted unless a lifeguard is on duty.
2. The pool areas may be closed when necessary for maintenance, health reasons, adverse weather conditions, or any other reason deemed necessary by the Pool Manager or his/her designee.
3. Admission to the pool shall be denied to persons suffering from obvious diseases, abrasions, coughs or colds, unless exempted by an appropriate medical certificate.
4. Air mattresses and other flotation devices as swimming aids (i.e., swimmies or vehicles inner tubes) are not permitted in the water during regular operating hours. Diving masks lenses and swim goggles lenses must be plastic.
5. Water games within the pool shall be permitted only at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.
6. Unnecessary roughness, including running, pushing, dunking, etc., shall not be permitted inside or outside of the pool.
7. Only one person shall be allowed on the diving board at a time. All divers shall enter the water from the end of the diving board, entering in the direction of the dive well safety rope. If in question, young divers must demonstrate swimming skills before being allowed to dive off boards.
8. Diving from the side of the dive well shall be prohibited while main boards are not in use. This is allowed only in board area and at the discretion of lifeguards.
9. Swimming through the diving area (except to clear the area following the dive) while other divers are waiting to dive shall be prohibited.
10. All injuries incurred on the Club premises shall be reported immediately to the Pool Manager or his/her designee in order for the latter to take appropriate action.
11. Proper swimming attire must be worn at all times.
12. Stairs and banisters shall be used only for entering and exiting the pool. These shall be no swinging, hanging or jumping, or other misuse of stairs or banisters.
13. There shall be no swinging or horseplay on or around the mushroom.
14. A lap lane rope will be installed. Hanging on any rope is forbidden.
VIII. FOOD/BEVERAGE/ALCOHOL
1. During regular operating hours, beer is permitted. However we strictly prohibit glass bottles. We also ask that you be discrete about it. Liquor is not permitted during these hours.
2. An adult member 18 years of age or older wishing to host a private party at the Club must obtain a reservation and approval by the Pool Manager or his/her designee at least on (1) week in advance of the party date.
3. Private parties shall be limited to seventeen (17) guests, counting non-member adult chaperones when needed.
4. An adult chaperone (18 years of age or older) shall be present for every five (5) children 13 years of age or younger.
5. The adult member party host shall be responsible for all aspects of his/her guests. All party invitees shall comply with both the O.H.S.C. Constitution and Pool Operating Rules contained herein.
6. There shall be no more than two (2) parties at any given time.
7. The adult member host is responsible to ensure that the party area is as clean at the conclusion of the party as it was before the party.
8. One guest pass shall be used for all party invitees. The adult host member shall be responsible to ensure that all party invitees are signed in at the front gate and have paid their appropriate guest fees.
